Workflows manage the stages our content must go through until we're ready to edit, review and publish.
The component to manage workflows was recently enabled and revised. Now the default activity includes several steps prior to presenting content into any of these lists on the community facing portal. Some of the steps involved research, development and fact-checking.
To see the workflow that we have provided with the Portal Training data, everyone who would like to get involved, can create a membership and make your interest know to the SysOps. We first needed to enable and maintain these functionalities and modalities prior to activating our PMA membership systems.
For those who invest in our infrastructure, and posses a technical skillset, you can be granted permissions for operating our platform interactively. Those who do so will:
- Access the administration area
- From 'Content' > 'Articles' > 'Options' > 'Integration' tab set 'Enable workflow' to 'Yes'
- Save changes
Now when we access 'Content' again we will see the section 'Workflows'.
When we edit an item of content, we will also see the new transitions for content related to workflows.
As the work product goes through several stages of content creation, we are challenged to meet stringent criteria that will eventually approve the content for publication.
Stay tuned for Jim Homyak's practical approach.
Enjoy USOA!
